A quick power tip on how to use Conditional Formatting and Advanced Sorting to solve a user problem.
Problem: Locating text in a text field exported from a database into Excel, followed by group those related records together. In a recent training, a student explained that she exports content from a database file into Excel. One of the exported fields was a text field. Once the data was exported to Excel, she wanted to locate specific text in in the text field for each record and then sort by color to group all related records together. She was looking for every occurrence of the words organize, organizing and organization.
The Resolve: Use Conditional Formatting and follow with Sort by color. Watch how it works. I think you will be as thrilled as she was.
